Introduction
To conceptualise, create and write copy that communicates product offers or information - across all media [TV, print, radio] - in the market [TV commercials, leaflets] and within the business [internal communication, internal promotions.
Job description
Job Objectives:
· To be accountable for accurate proofreading and checking across all media [product descriptions, price, etc.]
· To take part/contribute ideas in creative brainstorms to meet client specifications/requests.
· To provide supportive function to the creative head and client services on time and within specifications.
· Conceptualisation, creation, writing across brands and the delivery of copy for all promotional marketing material: print, TVCs, information for promotional materials like the Beauty & Health leaflets;
· Meticulous checking/proofreading of copy that communicates marketing offers or information on all leaflets, press ads, ensuring copy is in line with the style guide and CI;
· Translations of marketing material from English to Afrikaans;
· Writing of advertorials for publishing;
· Writing of TV and radio scripts and ensuring the recording/production of the ads take place – seeing the process through until the ads are sent to the respective TV & radio stations & ensuring we are within the budget and not overusing funds;
· Writing of live read radio scripts for various promotions and radio stations;
· Write engaging copy for all marketing initiatives;
· Writing copy for press ads, for e g The Sunday Times and translation of press ads for publications like Rapport;
· Produce marketing copy for loyalty programmes;
· Fully literate in Microsoft Office packages;
· Create persuasive writing to promote Clicks’ products and services. Often integrating the copy with graphic images, music and other visual and sound components;
· After gathering all the necessary information from briefs, the marketing copywriter begins creating copy that attempts to persuade the target market to purchase or use Clicks products or services. Several edits and rewrites are sometimes necessary to ensure the copy is creative, attention-grabbing, effective and that it meets the client's approval;
· Staying on top of all jobs;
· Great attention to detail and consistency regarding style guides;
· Excellent time management and the ability to multitask, perform well under pressure and are deadline driven;
· Good written and verbal communication skills;
