Introduction
We are looking to recruit a permanent Assistant Accountant to work within the Inventory department. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Finance Manager - Inventory.
Job description
Job Purpose:
To take responsibility of Cellular & Ecommerce accounting for Clicks.
Job Objectives:
· To prepare monthly consolidated income statements to determine profits generated from cellular products sold and distribute to the brands.
· To do analysis and accounting for cellular transactions as well as determining exceptions.
· To calculate cellular rebates to be claimed from cellular networks.
· To prepare monthly cellular journals.
· To liaise with cellular networks as well as ensuring the continuous involvement with IT and buyers to develop consistent reporting.
· To reconcile virtual airtime distribution centres.
· To deal with cellular related queries.
· To identify financial risks pertaining to cellular accounting and to take ownership of the process to ensure more transparent reporting.
· To do analysis and accounting all brands. Highlight an investigate exceptions.
· To prepare month end journals such as system alignments and reallocations journals
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
· A relevant tertiary qualification (B.Com) coupled with good work experience (essential).
· JDA and SAP working experience.
· High level of computer literacy and knowledge of Windows based programmes (MS Office).

· Strong technical financial background.
· Strong analytical and problem solving abilities including the ability to anticipate potential problems.
· Be resilient and able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
· Have attention to fine detail.
