Introduction
We are looking to recruit a Group Services Finance Manager to work within the Group Finance department, based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Group Finance Manager. The role will oversee the payroll reconciliations, manage reporting for the group service business unit in accordance with Group requirements and IFRS.
Job description

Job Objectives:
  • Process monthly group services financial transaction in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly business reviews by department
  • Prepare the monthly brand and business unit packs accurately, timeously and confirm recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards and relevant legislation
  • Prepare the monthly cost allocation to brands
  • Manage forecasts and budgets for the Group Services business units
  • Manage the Payroll Reconciliation function and the associated team
  • Oversee the financial reporting system processes and provide training and support where necessary
  • Create opportunities for improved team work
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • To provide accurate, timeous and relevant financial information to facilitate decision-making. 
  • Identify and implement improvements within the finance control environment
  • Assist in delivering the finance teams long term objectives and goals
  • Provide coaching and mentorship for future development of team members

Minimum requirements

 
Essential Competencies:
  •   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  •   Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
  •   Attention to detail and accuracy, especially in payroll and financial reconciliations
  •   Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  •   Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities
  •   Proficiency in payroll management systems
  •   Analyse and review trends of information at month end to ensure that information reported is reasonable and      accurate
  •  Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking
Qualifications and Experience:
  •  Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
  •  B.Com or similar Accounting Degree (essential)
  •  CIMA (desirable)
  •  4-5 years experience in a finance environment
  •  4-5 years experience in a management role
  •  General retail experience (essential)
  •  SAP FI (essential) 
  •  SAP EPM/SAC experience. (Desirable) 
  •  System reconciliation exposure (desirable)
Skills, Abilities and Job Knowledge: 
  • Exposure to retail operations and stock movement knowledge
  • Knowledge of Group Accounting Methodology
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Knowledge of Staff Development Principles
  • Knowledge of Budgeting Processes
  • Knowledge of Performance Management Principles
  • Computer literacy on MS Office
