Introduction
We are looking to recruit a permanent Technical Team Leader (Integration and Master Data Management) to work within the Group IT department. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Applications Portfolio Manager: Integration and Business Intelligence.
Job description
- To be accountable for the effective management of designated Integration and MDM applications, including the development of new business applications, and the support, maintenance and enhancement of existing applications to meet business needs.
- Accountable for the development, maintenance and support of designated business applications.
- Accountable for analysis and solution design of designated application systems, including application roadmap and migration plans – work closely with the Data architect and the Enterprise Architect team to ensure it adheres to architectural principles and compliance with the Enterprise Technology Roadmap.
- Ensure effective implementation and application of agreed systems development methodologies and processes in order to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure sufficient people capacity (requisite knowledge, skill, expertise and experience) and the effective management of people resources to meet business needs.
- Effectively manage the SLA performance of software vendors and 3rd party service providers to ensure that promises to the business are met.
- Participate in the definition and implementation of the Clicks Group’s Integration and Master Data strategy (provide input and technical understanding of designated applications to ensure seamless integration).
- Provide input to annual budget associated with area of responsibility.
- Stay abreast of relevant application systems and technologies, and work in concert with the Application Portfolio Manager, Data Architect and Enterprise Architecture to influence business thinking with respect to potential business solutions and benefits.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Computer Science and/or Information Systems or minimum 10 years’ experience in Application Development (essential)
- 3 to 5 years line/people management experience
- 4 years’ experience in application design and the application of industry standard application development methodologies
- Experience in the design, development and implementation of Service Orientated Architecture
- Solid experience and knowledge of an ESB and related principles; and a proven track record of implementation
- Working experience in the retail sector and the development and support of retail applications (e.g. POS, Merchandising, CRM, Business Intelligence, Integration, Finance & HR)
- Working knowledge of Master Data Management, including Data Quality control and Governance
- Basic understanding of the POPI act, PCI and general data security compliance
