An opportunity has opened for a Retail Finance Manager I – Unihealth to work within the Retail Finance department. The role will be based at our Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Finance manager II.
Job description

MAIN PURPOSE

To enhance the financial health of the Clicks Group through strategy, reporting and financial analysis of the UniHealth division in alignment with the group’s vision and governance framework. The financial manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the UnilHealth division. The role includes the management of monthly reporting, interim and year end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, the audit process as well as assisting on adhoc projects.

JOB OBJECTIVES

  • Manage the forecasting and budgeting process of the UniHealth division.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to gather insights and requirements for budget and forecast planning.
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate capturing of detailed budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare detailed budget and forecast packs to be distributed and presented to key stakeholders.
  • To support the business in making informed decisions by producing and distributing monthly, interim and annual financial information
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports.
  • To ensure that accurate reports are timeously produced, analysed and distributed to the various business units with variances and corrective measures highlighted; and further to ensure that such corrective actions are implemented, and monitored.
  • Identify and explain variances from budget and previous periods, providing actionable insights.
  • To ensure that all relevant balance sheet reconciliations are performed and reviewed on a monthly basis.
  • Managing the audit process by ensuring all financial records and documentation are audit ready and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage the audit request list and ensure timely submission of audit requests.
  •  Address and resolve any audit findings or recommendations
  • Adhoc projects

Minimum requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • CA (SA), CIMA or CFA
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Finance experience, preferably in the Retail industry in a JSE Listed company

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Highly analytical and very skilled individual
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel, familiarity with any ERP system and business analysis tools (SQL, Tableau or Power BI a strong plus)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible and a team player
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
