Introduction
The main purpose of the job is to identify IT risk areas, to plan and execute audits in order to provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Information Technology controls within the group and to develop reports to support the audit function.
Job description
- To complete planned / ad hoc IT audit assignments over IT infrastructure, cyber-security, and application controls in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
- To provide input into strategic IT projects (in various forms) within the group.
- To plan and perform detailed reviews of IT processes, cyber security, application reviews, general control reviews, development and execution of CAATS and provide support to finance auditors over key application controls.
- To provide management with best practices to improve their business and/or processes to be more efficient and effective.
- To finalise reports and ensure that recommendations meet the required standards.
- To maintain good client relationships.
- To produce high quality reports and memos that provides the business with insightful and impactful results of control assessment and recommendations for improvement
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary Information Systems or relevant commerce qualification (essential).
- CISA, CISM, CISSP, desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Systems auditing
Skills, Abilities and Job Related Knowledge:
- Understanding of IT, cyber security and application system risks and controls
- Proven expertise in the use of data analysis tools such as ACL is an advantage.
- Understanding of the principles of good IT governance.
- Working knowledge of Cobit and understanding of IITIL.
- Knowledge of internal audit methodology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
- High level of computer literacy
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint experience
