Introduction
We are looking to recruit a permanent Merchandise Planner to work within in The Body shop department. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the General Manager.
Job description

Objectives:

  • To meet overall business objectives by developing department sales, gross profit and inventory plans (merchandise plans) based on the operating plan on an annual basis and review on an on-going basis.
  • Plan inventory flows into store specific allocations by setting the initial allocation quantities when launching products into the business to maximise stock efficiencies.
  • To order New Release and Chart inventory based on sku forecasts and policies to maximise inventory availability
  • To generate and collate information and then apply sound business thinking to provide the department team with insights to assist the team to plan and manage the department effectively.
  • To plan and manage the replenishment processes and ordering of catalogue products.
  • To contribute favourably to department and regularly review performance indicators, such as sales, inventory, operations and planning, keeping the business updated on financial performance versus plan.
  • To build a high performing team through effective people management and development in order to ensure capability to meet current and future business objectives as well as effective delivery & growth.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant B.Com Degree (Essential)
  • 5 years minimum in FMCG retail or other related working environments as a Planner
