Introduction
We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisors to oversee our Despatch/ Fleet department at United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be at the Durban branch and will report to the Operations Manager.
Job description

Job Purpose:
  • To oversee a wide variety of Despatch activities including scanning and invoicing of orders from Distribution and Wholesale in accordance with Wholesale and Distribution SOP.
  • Making sure orders are despatched withing the set cut offs.
  • Responsible for the effective and accurate management and control of Inventory within the warehouse ensuring good Wholesale, Distribution and FMCG Practice is applied.
 
Job Objectives:
  • Effective supervision and control of the picking, checking, packing and dispatch functions
  • Adherence to compliance, SOP's and company policies (SHEQ, QA)
  • Productivity management - Capacity management, order processing cycle time, route mapping and tracking, efficient management - Capacity management of despatch activities, maintaining customer SLA's
  • Equipment up-time and maintenance - Asset inspections and reports are performed as required
  • Fleet management - servicing vehicles at the requisit intervals, monitoring of milage and delivery times, reduce fleet cost.
  • Reporting on daily performance and Order status
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly management reports
  • Attainment of daily operational targets
  • Effective POD management.
  • Attainment of daily performance and order status.
  • Reverse logistics - credit returns process, effective control of the tote bins and washbay.
  • Housekeeping
  • Management of quality and output levels
  • Performance management of staff, staff training and discipline.
  • Set targets and deadlines for direct reports.
  • Assistance of stock counts.
  • Control and resolution of order disputes / claims internally and externally
  • Manage staff compliment for overtime.

Minimum requirements

Experience and Education:
  • Matric/NQF Level 4 (Essential)
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Advantageous)
  • Fleet management and operational/ logistical experience with at least 3 years experience at a Supervisor/manager level

Job related knowledge and skills:
  • Computer skills on MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • ERP/WMS Systems understanding
  • Financial background- Budget
