Introduction
We are looking to recruit 1 (One) permanent Stock Controller to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based in the Cape Town branch for the distribution department, and will be reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Job description

Job Purpose
  • To ensure that during the warehousing process that GWDP (Good Wholesaling and Distribution Practice) is complied with and that the principles of the FEEFO/FIFO process of stock rotation are adhered to and batch traceability is ensured and that UPD SOPs are adhered to.
 
Job Objectives:
  • To perform accurate, timeous cycle counts to ensure that all products are correctly, accurately packed away into the correct storage locations and that shrinkage is identified and reduced in terms of UPD SOPs
  • To ensure that accurate records of all stock counting, stock adjustments, stock management and related transactions are obtained and filed.
  • To ensure that short dated, expired and damaged products and products that are recalled, withdrawn or to be returned to a supplier are timeously and accurately removed from the warehouse shelves and necessary stock adjustments are completed and to investigate and resolve reports on all suspended lines, short dated stock reports.
  • To comply with and meet operational cost containment targets and stipulated cut off times and deadlines
  • To perform all stock control or inventory duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum requirements

Education
  • Matric / Grade 12 / Abet level 4 (Compulsory requirement)
  • NQF Level 2 in Wholesale and Retail Distribution (advantageous)
 
Experience
  • 2 - 5 years experience in Pharmaceutical industry and or Relevant experience
 
Knowledge
  • Basic product knowledge
  • Warehousing and distribution industry knowledge
  • Computer literacy (Excel is essential)
  • Numerically literate
  • Ability to operate all equipment
