Introduction
We are looking to employ a Driver for 8 months Fixed term contract in our UPD Cape Town distribution centre in Montague Gardens, the position will report to a Department Manager.
Job description
Job Objectives:
Responsible primarily for ensuring that all customer parcels are delivered timeously and accurately on a specified delivery route
· Inspect the vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy and clean
· Checking and confirm stock to be loaded in Dispatch cage to ensure correct accuracy
· Documentation handling
· Loading of vehicle, process and procedure
· Delivery of products, customer contact
· Security procedure, end of shift
· General
· Cold chain
· Hijacking Policy
Competencies:
· Attention to detail
· Able to work under time pressure/time deadline
· Able to work in a team
· Accuracy and Numerical ability Desirable
Minimum requirements
Experience:
• Must be prepared to work Overtime
• Must be prepared to work shifts in order to meet the operational requirements of the department
• Own transport preferable
• No traffic Violations on record
• Clean, neat personal appearance
• A Code 10 drivers license required, approved by the South African Road Traffic Act
• A Valid PDP
